Public discovery and SEO
Boletra ships a public event search at boletra.com/discover and a sitemap that indexes every published event with a future date. You don’t need to do anything extra to appear there, but a few things improve your ranking.
How events enter the search
The moment you publish an event with a future start date, automatically:
- It appears in
/discoverwith filters by city, date and tags. - It’s added to the platform sitemap so Google indexes it.
- The previews for WhatsApp, X, Instagram, Facebook, etc. are generated using the banner as the image — so the link looks great when shared.
When the event becomes past, gets cancelled or you unpublish it, it falls out of search within minutes.
SEO best practices
Title
- Include the headliner and city:
Mon Laferte — CDMX 2026. - Avoid leading emojis (search engines drop them or render them oddly).
- Keep titles under 60 characters to avoid truncation on Google.
Short description
- Aim for 150–160 characters.
- Mention artist, city, venue and date. Those are the words your buyers search for.
Banner
- Upload a high quality image (≥ 1600×900 px). That’s what gets shown when sharing.
- You can bake important text into the image, but remember most engines only read the HTML text, not the image.
Tags
Pick 3–5 concrete tags: cumbia, indie-rock, stand-up, cdmx, palermo. They appear as filters in /discover and boost ranking.
Event slug
- Generated automatically from the title (
mon-laferte-cdmx-2026). - You can edit it from the panel. Keep it short, readable and accent-free.
- Don’t change the slug after publishing: it breaks links you already shared on socials.
Languages
If you support several languages, at minimum translate the title and short description. This helps each locale rank in its target market.
Channel attribution
To know where your sales come from (Instagram, mailing, X, etc.), add UTMs to the link you share:
https://boletra.com/o/my-venue/my-event?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=story&utm_campaign=presaleUTMs travel through to the purchase and will surface in your event’s sales report.
Google Search Console
If you have Google Search Console (it’s free), you can add the boletra.com property and submit your sitemap manually to speed up the first indexing pass. Send us the verification code and we’ll add it.
