Credits and pricing
Boletra charges per issued ticket, not per sale. That is: 1 credit = 1 ticket. If a buyer buys one entry, we charge you 1 credit. If they buy 4, we charge you 4.
Credits never expire and accumulate on your venue.
Free plan
Every venue starts with 50 free credits every month. They renew automatically on the 1st of each month (UTC) — you don’t have to do anything. Unused credits don’t roll over, but you get a fresh 50 the following month.
Perfect to run a monthly indie event without paying for the platform.
Free credits first, balance after
When an order pays and issues QRs, the system spends from your free monthly first and only touches your purchased balance once free runs out. On the Credits dashboard you see them separately:
- Current balance — purchased credits.
- Free this month —
freeMonthlyAllowance - freeMonthlyConsumed. Resets on the 1st. - Issuable total — sum of both = how many tickets you can issue before needing to buy more.
The History tab labels each consumption as Free monthly or Used (from balance), so you always know which pool was spent.
Paid packages
If you go over 50 tickets in a month, you buy extra credits. The more volume, the lower the per-unit cost:
| Package | Credits | Total USD | Per unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 100 | 22 | 0.22 |
| Growth | 300 | 54 | 0.18 |
| Scale | 1,000 | 140 | 0.14 |
| Pro | 5,000 | 550 | 0.11 |
| Enterprise | 20,000 | 1,600 | 0.08 |
Pay with card directly from the dashboard. Purchases are instant, credits are available immediately.
What Boletra does not charge
- Per-sale commission: we don’t take a cut of your ticket revenue. You set the price and service fee, and it all goes to your Stripe.
- Setup or monthly fee: no fixed charges.
- Per device / validator: you can have as many validators as you want at no extra cost.
What you do pay
- The credits Boletra charges (table above).
- Stripe keeps its processing fee (typically 2.9% + fixed fee, depending on country and payment method). Goes straight to Stripe, doesn’t pass through Boletra.
Refunds
If a buyer requests a refund and you approve it, the credit already consumed is not refunded — the ticket was issued. The refund is processed by Stripe against the funds in your account, and the QR is marked as refunded (won’t enter the venue).
See it in real time on the Sales page — refunded QRs are counted separately and the order status switches to refunded.
